Take a look around and you will see a number of successful minorities in all professional fields: Sonia Sotomayor, M. Night Shyamalan, Vera Wang, Oprah Winfrey, etc. And don't forget the current U.S. president, Barack Obama. Although these people are minorities in American society, their achievements and talents are not at all of minor league quality. One of the main reasons that have made them become who they are today, I believe, is good education. The following is a list of scholarships available for various ethnic groups. There is quite a lot of scholarships out there. I am not sure why so many people don't take advantage of them especially from the list you provided. Instead they take out expensive school loans that put them into debt for years.
